Hi everyone and welcome to my Vegging Vegan Beauty website, my name is Sheila. Plant-based food has been a passion of mine for the last 2 years. My teenage daughter decided she was going to turn Vegan! As you can imagine as a mum I was skeptical but also wanted to be supportive.

As well as this site being about Veganism I also want to share with you my life. I am a traveler and I always have been. I am going to give you insight into our journey of life. Our life in a nutshell

Trying to find information online to support my daughter was quite overwhelming. I wanted a one-stop shop that sold Supplements, vitamins, make-up, and body products at a good price and with a range that I could choose. And with us travelling I am going to share Vegan Places with you and Hotels that we stay in along our journey.

So as you guessed ‘yes’ I decided to create my own website. Being on the road with my Vegan Teen and husband, Mark

As well as making sure your teenager is getting the right supplements. You can also shop for Body products and Makeup. There will be recipes and tips, places to visit. .

When my oldest daughter was two she was diagnosed with allergies towards, nuts, gluten, egg, dairy, wheat these are just to name a few. So supplements was a must in our house.

So you have the insight and knowledge of living with a Vegan Teenager and ways to support their choices.

A Little Story About My Life

I grew up in Loughborough, England and lived there until I until the age of twenty 24. Wanting to give (my one daughter at the time) a better lifestyle, I packed up my belongings and moved to New Zealand. Where I had another two children and also met the love of my life and husband, Mark. Life was great in New Zealand we bought some property opened a couple of business and had a very good life. But there was something missing. The kids were growing up. And the oldest daughter moving on (TO THE OTHER END OF THE WORLD)!!!!

So after 16 years in New Zealand, it was time for a change of scenery and we moved to Thailand. Myself, two teenage children and Mark. Two glorious years in Thailand were we volunteered at a foundation (myself teaching Zumba) to children in the slums and my husband, Mark doing the maintenance. Obviously, there was still lots of time for fun, soaking up the sun, massages on the beach. Heaven. But again it was time for a change. Finding that we wanted to keep on working or investing I suppose getting a bit bored with this early retirement. We were forty!

Today, my Vegan teenage daughter and my meat eating husband, ooh me that’s right A LITTLE STORY ABOUT ME well I am vegetarian. Remember growing up in the 80 were you were not allowed to leave the table until everything was eaten off your plate “Fat and all” well I think this has had a long-term effect having the texture in my mouth. Yuck. As I was saying we are now living in Florida and have been for the last 8 months. Living the American dream. Or is it?

Times Are Changing

My daughter went vegan for a few reasons mainly the slaughtering of animals, but also the environment and her health. Parents worry about the lack of magnesium, calcium, iron, zinc and Vitamin B, especially B12 as this is found naturally only in animal products. A meatless diet can be healthy, but vegans need to make sure they’re getting supplements.

Some simple stats just based on the UK alone in 2006, 150,000 people opted for a plant-based diet. Today this has reached 542,000. This is an increase of 350%. It is driven by the young ages between 15 – 34, compared with just 14% who are over 65.
